Impossible. Well, more effort than its worth anyway. Same goes for OE, Windows Messenger, IE....

    Hi
I recently found, but stupidly, failed to save page a way to get rid of messenger, thought it might have been here.

No real reason for getting rid of this stuff except that i HATE to be told by BG et al what I need on my PC :)

    Will keep trying

certain components of windows are locked in (part of the general running of windows ,files are shared between programs )IE is a prime example you cannot get rid of this as well, i suspect movie maker must have file links in the program that are needed to use other windows media software (media player).
there are alternatives to these programs so we are not forced to use them but any program that you use in place of windows software still needs to be compatable with windows to run and to use certain files from the windows installed software.so you are not entirly free.if its a mojor issue you can use
    linux
    mac
