I know I can use Dban if I want to change my hard drive but wanted to know if Ccleaners drive wiper can erase the single partiton C: drive?
I read that it can but because it resides on the drive itself, I cannot see how this can be done. Can Ccleaner's drive wiper remove information from the hard drive using the program as it is?

    Hi Plodr
I guess it would be ok to use if you were giving your pc to a friend a all data would be removed - correct?

I don't trust myself to find all the data. When I refurb a computer, I run DBAN twice then use the recovery/restore disk.
If I don't have a restore/recovery disk (I get computers from people to wipe), I remove the hard drive and take it apart so no one can get the info.
