    Hey Guys,

Several months ago in the news they advised everyone to remove all Java from their computers because viruses were getting into jillions of computers. I ignored this because I figured the people just didn't update their Java to the newest version. But now I'm beginning to wonder--are you guys all removing all your Java, or just updating it to the newest version?

    Thanks,
    Tink

Hi TinkBelle, although I can't speak for everyone else,, but all traces of Java has been removed from all my computers.

    Hi Nick T!

OK, thanks! Maybe I will do the same. How does it affect your computer not having Java? (I don't even know how it affects my computer HAVING Java!)

I have java installed as I occasionaly use it for games such as Minecraft but I have chosen to disable it from running in web browsers. This option is in the Java Control in the Control Panel. I then only enable it when I have to and disable it as soon as I am finished.

I have Java installed on only one of 8 computers in the house. On the one it is installed on, I have it disabled.
Open the Java icon and click on the Security tab. You can disable it there.

I only enable it as I need it then I disable it again.

Okeedoke. First of all, thanks, guys! OK, I disabled Java by unchecking Enable. I also just did a search for Java in my computer, and the search came up with 70 results, including Java, Java_uno, Javaloader, Script Provider for Java, Java Vendors, Java Runtime Environment, sunjavaplugin, etc. Is that normal?
