Remove MSE

My buddy wants to switch from MSE to Avast Free. What he needs to know is, what's the best way to uninstall MSE ?? He wants to be sure all traces are removed before installing Avast.

 

Hey Nick T, what version of MSE is installed, the 32bit or 64bit.
Give Revo a go.

Revo only lists 32bit application, so if MSE shows up uninstall.
Revo will use MSE's uninstaller at first. If asked to reboot don't, hit next. Revo will now look for left over reg entries. Only select the ones that are bold and proceed. Reboot.

If MSE does not list in Revo then it is 64bit. I'll just use add/remove to uninstall.

I'd have suggested AppRemover but they are not current with MSE only upto 2.1.x and no 64bit in Vista.

The bold items ARE the only things that will be deleted.

The other items are checked to indicated the Path to the item(s).
