I sure hope I'm posting this in the right place? I need to go through my computer cause it's acting strange. What I need to know is should I uninstall all the stuff I downloaded before (ie Malware Bytes,Combo fix etc...) then reinstall before I start the procedure in Malware removal??

    Hi Vikingman

Moved your post to software so not to have your thread wait for the malware fighters to catchup to you in the queue, this will save time and allow you to post a new thread with all the info and logs you need to get them going on a fix, if needed.

Yes I would uninstall any older versions and update to current versions the apps needed to be run, in most cases all you will need to do is to update the likes of Malwarebytes so its current malware database, but items like Combofix get the latest version listed in the guide as any old versions may cause issues (last version deleted stuff it shouldnt have).

Then once all upto date, run the guide and attach the logs to a new thread in malware, plus also give them any clues as to what you think is causes strangeness in your PC.

    • Is it popups? if so do they have a name.
    • Is your browser being re-directed to a less welcome site?
    • Does your Anti-Virus software alert you to a Virus/Trojan? if so whats its name.
    • Slowing PC, with apps opening slowly?
