    I have a failed XP installation on my Windows 2000 server. I would like to remove the OS choice that shows when booting up. I have played with boot.ini changing the Default= portion to
    Default=multi<0>disk<0>rdisk<0>partition<2>\WINNT but I still get the OS choice that defaults to Windows (Default)

    Please give me your thoughts.

    timeout=0

    Change the timeout to zero.

    Setting timeout=0 did not fix the problem.
    The "Please select the OS screen has the line Windows 2000 etc on top of Windows(Default) line and my curser(hi-lited) line is Windows (Default)

    Post your boot.ini file here. Either as an attachment, or inline text. :)

    This boot.ini is not from this computer but from the server.

    The boot.ini is only for the computer in question. The server doesn't control, how your pc starts up.

    UNLESS, ye are using a thin client, with a LAN os boot up.

    The problem has been solved!!!!!!
    When You asked to have the file sent I gave it a hard look and found that when editing the Default= I used <> instead of (). The correct symbols fixed it.
    Thanks for the input.
