removed dvdplayer from laptop/device manger says working properly

    WTF

    MY dvd player doesnt work
    but device manger says working fine
    i removed dvdplayer
    still device manager says working fine???????

    so trying to do diagnostics as to why dvd player doesnt work
    i guess device manager is not the tool to use???

    thanks for help insight rolleyes

    In device manager, right click the DVD player and select uninstall. You'll get a warning about uninstalling the device, but proceed. Restart the computer, re-insert/reconnect the DVD drive and let Windows install the drivers.

    If it was just a matter of recognizing the device, this should correct it. If, however, there's a problem with the DVD drive itself, it won't.

    Could also need a laser lens cleaning.
