I just downloaded this program from your front page. It claims it's found 10s of infected files. Most of them in Sys32, some include names off programs like Spotify and CCleaner.

Is this program reliable? How many of you have used it?

If I tell it to go and fix all these things what are the risks of damage to my computers function?

    Thanks

If I remember correctly, RemoveIT Pro V4 SE is famous for false positives. I remember helping out some people who used RemoveIT Pro and thought there computer was full of crap, but it wasn't.

Does it make a log? If so, please post it?

What is a "false positive" in this context?

The additional programs you mentioned....are they not just for more simple types of spyware(I those used by companies trying to see what websites I visit) and malware?

Don't get me wrong, I definately want rid of all that garbage too. But viruses/trojans are what I have been led to believe are more dangerous.

It came up with 49 results. I did a quick scan and then a full scan. It says that it is finding trojans/viruses. It didn't give me an option to get a log so I've just copied the progress report:

domluc is right follow his guidance if you are unsure of these findings remember google is your best friend.i just googled the first of the finds and ose.exe is a crucial file belonging to Microsoft office suit and if deleted can cause instability with the program " http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/ose/ ".i used to use removeit pro also but stopped because of the false possitives,i now use avast virus cleaner as a backup virus scan.

As far as I'm concerned, RemoveIT Pro is a piece of :)crap) garbage. As stated previously it brings back WAY TOO MANY false positives. I checked every file it flagged as being infected thru Google and IsThisFileSafe website. They were, without exception, necessary files for windows and various progs on my system. I would NEVER recommend RemoveIT to ANYONE!
