I have a system here that has a hard drive with a damaged boot sector. I would like to safe the info off the drive but the drive as account password locked.

I remember an app that would run standalone that would erase the passwords but can't remember the name of it.

Does anyone know of this app?

Hi if you have 2 pc's this is easy you just take the HDD with the bad boot sector out and place it in your other computer as a slave drive then you should be able to access the files you want to keep like Favorites, emails. pictures, .exe files and zip files e.c.t.

But I have had one hdd that I had turned off the guest file and made the user name admin and changed a few things around that locked me out so I could not do that.

If you have done this you might have to do a clone hdd so you can save the files that way and there are programs like bad copy pro MG have a copy of this in there software section.

Hope this helps I hate lossing data

The user account has a password on it so the user account is locked. IS there a program that will remove the password?
