Removing DirectX10 from Vista

The microsoft website says its impossible, but I would like to try to downgrade my windows vista to using DX9 in order to solve a problem I've been having for months. It's sort of a last resort kind of thing. If anyone knows of a way to (hopefully safely) get rid of DX10 and bump me back down to 9 I think it would make my system more stable. Thanks.

not posibly, and any hack you try to use, would likely make the situation worse.

Cannot remove it as mentioned but you can run DX9.0c and it adds some components of DX9 to Vista to allow some software to function, a few games ask this on install.

It will not however run all the runtime files as it will add things like D3DX9 etc only.. but this is possibly all you need. But if the software needs DX9 DirectPlay Voice or Direct3D Retained Mode then its not going to work on Vista well.

If your having stability issues then look into your hardware drivers and are they latest Vista versions.

Is your PC, at a spec level to run Vista ok? don't take the min spec as running Vista fine, it will not.

The software your running is it fully Vista compatible.
