Removing java

First i would like to say how useful this forum is , i have never bin a member but have read threads and found out useful information everyday.so i thought why not become a member.

So my question is how do i remove java from my computer so that i can reinstall the newer version of java sun.(probably have java sun already but i want to get rid of the older versions
The reason i am doing this is because i have herd that older versions have not been updated because of the newer version and could make my computer accessible to hackers and spy ware and so on.
Please lay it easy on my with the technical words because i am kinda new, well i know a lot but the things, i know a lot about software, games, few other things.
Also if i brake my computer my mom, will well you know!

You can find the previous versions in your add/remove programs and un-install them there.

Then go HERE to download the latest version.
