removing malware - now pc will not boot

    I am now unable to boot my pc in any mode, it won't recognize my os (windows xp). It happened after I used malwarebytes, which removed something and asked me to reboot. I've been following your protocal for malware removal after getting a "windowsrecovery" virus/malware that caused all my files to hide, removed all access to anything under the start menu (i can find all the programs in the c drive), redirects all internet searches and randomly plays video and audio advertisements.

    I have run system diagnostics in BIOS and everything passes. I found a similar posts on other forums, but this seems way over my head.

    Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    If you really cannot run anything to provide us information that we need to perform a proper diagnosis, your option would be to use another PC to try create one or more of the below CDs to boot from that allow you to run scans and perform many other tasks without Windows even being loaded. Sometimes this can help to get you started when all else fails. They can even help in cases where a previous scan may have removed something that resulted in your PC being unbootable.

    You should also post in the software forum for further assistance with getting you back up and running. Then you need to return here to continue malware removal!

    Thank you for your speedy response. Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I get the CD to be bootable with out an operating system?

    I will post in software from now on.
