Removing Parallel Installation

Hi, I used some tips from another thread and got my computer basically running at this point, obviously, and I was curious how do I now remove the parallel installation that I had to add in order to fix my windows? I basically don't want to be stuck with 2 operating systems and having to choose between them every time I boot the computer Thanks

 

Right do you select the first option at booting up, or the 2nd one? I'm assuming this is windows xp yes?
Whichever one it is, say its the first one you boot onto, then once booted up click start > right click my computer > properties > advanced > click settings underneath startup and recovery > click edit and then a notepad file should appear. mine says -
"[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn"

i'm assuming yours will have two lines of "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn" if so, and you're booting from the first option then delete the 2nd row of this text, save the file and exit!

behold and you should never have to choose which option to boot from!

 

When booting, make sure the first line is the one you are booting to.

Then do what the above said, except, remove the second line.

That should get rid of boot options, but not the OS.

Take note when deleting this line as to the name of the windows directory.

You need to remove that-, to get rid of the extra installation.

Check with msinfo32 to ensure that its not the Windows directory that you are currently working from!
