I have recently uninstalled and then re-installed a program that was giving me some problems, but I have noticed that the settings are not going back to the defaults. I have searched my hard drive for pref files, but can't seem to find them. How can I removes these files so that I can start clean with this program?

    Thanks,

    John

Quite possible that in the uninstall a software folder for that app was left in Program Files... uninstall your app again and look in Program Files for a leftover folder and delete, then using a Registry Cleaner scan for any orphaned files... you may find some linked to that software, and delete them.

a good registry and general PC cleaner is CCleaner
