Removing the Recycle Bin

Hi Guys,
Stupid question time
Im running Object Dock and Window Blinds and
im trying to totally clean and customise my desktop and put
all of my frequently used folders etc into Object Dock
so i have nothing on the desktop.
To finish this off i will add the trash to Object Dock.
How would i remove the the "Recycle Bin" shortcut from my desktop?

Please follow these steps:

1. Right-click anywhere on the desktop
2. Select the 'Arrange Icons By' sub-menu
3. Clear the check next to 'Show Desktop Icons'

Now, all icons will be removed from your desktop.

Mada_Milty your way did work
but it kinda warped the desktop wallpaper a bit

infoseeker i tried the link and did as it said but it didnt
remove the trash can from desktop.
I added the reg value back but it hasnt registered it as
the trash can.
In the register it now has
Name: Default
Type: REG_SZ
Data: (value not set)

Not to worry as trash can all works fine but its still on my desktop lol
I'll just have to live with it

 

There's more than one way to skin a cat! Especially with Windows!

TweakUI will also allow you to remove the Recycle Bin from the desktop. Just check under the 'Desktop' section!

and now i have a nice clean desktop.
