I accidently saved a user name and password (to my credit card website) that I truly didn't want to save on my computer.
I'm no tech, and tech stuff really makes my head hurt, so please tell me how to do it in words of one syllable without too many hoops to jump through!
where do I look, and how do I remove the specific user name and password that I want to remove?
I don't want to mess with anything as hairy as bios or os (I can speak a little geek, doesn't make me one, though!) so, finger's crossed....

it's probably saved in your browser. what os are you on (xp, vista)? what browser were you using at the time, firefox, or internet explorer? if you can tell us a version, it might help also. open your browser, and up at the top, select help, then about (something like that). - sos

You might give Find My Credit Card a try.

Hope this may help, it won't hurt anyhow. ;) Bazza

I assume you will use Bazz's excellent recipe for sorting your unintended password problem.

However even if you decline Windows/IE kind offer to remember passwords it will still be stored to your disk cache.

    In Internet Explorer

    Tools>internet options>advanced
tick the box labelled "Do not save encrypted files to disk"
    accept

In my view this should be the default setting.
