Removing Window XP

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove Window XP completely from my harddrive. I bought a re-install OS, Windows 7, and it will not remove XP. I was told there is a way to do it, but I cant figure it out. Would there be a software program that could remove Windows XP for me? Any help you can give me would really be appreciated. So if I understand you, you want to wipe your drive of XP before installing Windows 7, and your Windows 7 disc doesn't give you the option to format the drive before installation? Is this a correct assessment?

If the windows 7 dvd that u got is not the upgrade version for xp and vista, you can wipe your hard drive DBAN

 

Hi Larry,
When you installed Windows 7 it creates a folder called "windows old" go to Start> computer> double click C: drive (or the drive you have allocated to your OS)> right click windows old file and delete. this will remove the previous OS instalation (i.e XP).
