rename .bmp to .ico in Paint

I want to rename a bitmap file to an icon (pic.bmp to pic.ico). I am thinking this is not possible to do in Paint because the 'save as type' does not offer that option or the 'all files' option.

I want to do this primarily so when I go to my icon files folder I can see all the pictures in the TITLES view mode rather than the THUMBNAILS view mode.

Any ideas or other program I should try? Thanks.

 

Paint isn't going to do it. Try IcoFX: I've used it to create all sorts of great icons from pictures, jpegs, gifs, bmps, you name it....
