How do you rename a computer that you bought from someone? I want it to show my name instead of the name of the person I bought it from.

If you're comfortable edting the Windows registry (BACK UP FIRST), go to :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

    and modify the RegisteredOwner key.

Microsoft doesn't care whose name is on the computer-- all they care is the copy of Windows is being used on only one machine.

Windows 98 SE is the operating system. So you are saying it is really not important?
