    Greetings all,

My OE7 has either lost files or has been corrupted and I do not have a copy of Windows XP. So without a disk of Windows how could I repair or reinstall OE7 in XP?

    Thanks,

    HCE

    You mean IE7,right?If yes,download IE7 from here:http://www.majorgeeks.com/Internet_Explorer_7_d4955.html
uninstall the old one,and reinstall again.

If you mean Outlook express, then go to control panel>add&remove>add&remove Windows components>and uncheck outlook express.reset your computer, again go to control panel>add&remove>add&remove Windows components>and check outlook express.

    Goran,

Thank you for the reply. I do in fact mean Outlook Express. When I go to check my e-mail, OE wants to install some (?) missing component and seeing as I don't have an XP disk, I'm screwed. But to clarify, when you say to "reset" my computer do you mean a system restore? I'm not sure what you mean.

    Thanks again,

    HCE

Let's be clear on one point. There is no OE7. OE ended at version 6. Users who upgraded IE from 6 to 7 still have OE 6.

Whatever the case, I have the MS e-mail program that comes with XP when XP is installed on a PC by the person selling the system.

So I have an e-mail send\receive\download program that is a product of Microsoft that is associated with Microsoft Office somehow and calls itself Microsoft Outlook when the program starts.

Here's hoping that no further hair splitting will be required.

    Thank you,

    HCE

Whoa, hold up here. I see more "hair splitting" is required. ;)

Outlook Express (OE) does not equal Outlook. They are different programs. OE was bundled with Internet Explorer up through version 6, and both IE and OE have been part of all Windows since Windows 95, up through Windows XP. Thus, they are free. Outlook is part of MS Office, which is not free.

Up to your last post, you said you have OE. Now, you're saying you have Outlook and use it for email. So, which is it?

If outlook 2007, what is the error you are getting when running it? Does Microsoft word work? I believe outlook 2007 uses word 2007 as the default email editor, so that could also have issues. Have you tried a repair on office 2007?

I'm going to jump on this one as well. My OE got corrupted somehow. My spell check somehow got switched to French instead of English, and there's no way to switch it back to English. I've got my Win XP disc, but what I want to do is save my current information. IE: Email addresses (Hotmail and Verizon) as well as any email downloaded to my hard drive from Verizon. I know that my Hotmail is available online.
My IT manager is telling me that I want to look for a PAB file to grab whatever information is in OE. He also told me to look for an OST file to save my Verizon email. I'm not finding either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
