Repaired Xp error with win licence key

    I had a virus on my sytem, eventually decided to run a window repair and now the system need the licence key. The key I entered appears to be the wrong one. I have a special licence with MS - educational licence so it is not illegal. How can I retrieve the licence key? I can't get beyond this point, so I think I'm basically buggered - do I need to reinstall?
