    Can someone please HELP.
After repairing my installation of windows XP the other programs that I had
installed prior the this no longer respond when I click on the program icons.
Is there a program around that can correct this without me having to reinstall
    all my applications

After repair, you need windows updates.
This may not be answer to your problem's.

I am running XP also, and now I am curious what sort of problems you had before fixing XP ? Virus ?
I'll check this again to see if you reply to my question. I hope you do , I am very curious...... Carl

I am encountering this problem also. I have icons for MS Publisher 2002 but says I need to reinstall. Unfortunately I can't find my installation codes for my product. If I registered with Microsoft is there a way to get my installatino codes from them without paying them a fortune?

Your installation codes should be branded into your registry. I was successful at unistalling Word < any version and my cd key was saved. Try another Office product and unistall it and try reinstalling it.

I've tried reinstalling Publisher 2002 but it asks for my install code again. Don't know how to find it in the registry. I have found a setup file that refers to an install code, however there are more than the 25 needed characters.

My problem started from spyware (Home search) hijacking my homepage,
after going through many steps to finally reclaim my hostage page certain windows .dll files were missing or just unable to be found. I figured the easiest way to solve this problem was to repair Windows. After running the XP repair program ( which is almost like reinstalling XP) many of my desktop
icons not longer work, nor to they work from the program manager, not even from the actual targeted folder, all the folders are still inplace but the programs don't respond. Yes I have run Windows update and I am Current.
