I recently bought 5 Thermaltake LED case fans for my build. On installing, I noticed that one of the fans does not turn, however it lights up. I examined it and discovered that a wire tore off of the mini board at the center of the fan. It is the red wire that leads into the 4 pin molex connector. Can I attempt to resolder it?

The conductive foil itself tore off where the fan was attached- I would be attempting to resolder the wire onto the still intact part of the foil.

You can try, might be easier to replace though, and may still have to after the attempt. If this was new can't you have it replaced?

Since you're talking about a PCB soldering is just about the only repair option, if it were wires I rarely solder those, just twist em together tightly and add electrical tape.

Before I realized it was faulty, I had already glued it to another fan. And shipping it back to newegg is about the same cost as buying another.
