Repeater?

    New here...

Has anyone ever needed to get a repeater for their Wi-fi? At the moment, our signal only reaches half of the flat, so we have to connect in the kitchen or ask my flatmate to sit in his room which is always a bother.

Just wondering if I would have to buy one and install it myself or if my ISP (Virgin) would do that for me?

    Cheers!

    I use these http://www.walagata.com/w/perk/MjG/XAVB2001_0.jpg
One goes in an electric outlet and connects with a short CAT cable to the router.
I can put the other anywhere I wanted a wired connection.
Currently it is in the basement on the opposite end of the house where the modem and router are located (on the first floor). It is plugged into an outlet near the computer and a CAT cable runs from it to the computer.
