Had to recently replace my laptop's HD. Original HD was 250GB, and the new one is 320GB.

Restored system using 4 DVD system image disc I had created a couple of months ago. Everything went smoothly, and I'm back running. In fact, I'm using the restored system now as I write this email.

However, when I display properties for my HD it reflects the old capacity of the 250GB HD. Is there a way to see/use my entire 320GB new HD?? Thanks

Since those disk resulted in basically a cloned image, you are going to have to extend the partition. Fortunately, you can extend a system partition in Windows 7 using Disk Management. If you have any data you wish to keep, it is always a good idea to back it up first.

Edit: They must be free space after the partition, so if you have a recovery partition next to the system partition, this will not work. You will have to use a partition manager in order to move the recovery partition first and then extend the system partition.

If you aren't useing Windows 7 EasUS Partition manager can extend your primary boot for you.
