My Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 Disc 4 has quite a few deep gashes on it, preventing it from being read by my computer. I would like to install it on an additional computer that I have. Is there any way to fix the CD or get a free replacement CD from Microsoft? I do have all of the game files installed on another computer that has a no-cd patch. I do not want to have to spend the maneey to buy another copy, after I already bought it once.

I don't think MS will replace a damaged CD.

As for fixing a CD, it is kidna possible, but most people don't have the needed equipment. Also it would depend on if the data layer is damaged at all. The bottom of the cd is just a protective layer, and it's really important. It's just the damage on it causes the laser to mess up. If it gets really damaged, what is done is they actually put it in a machine and sand off the protective layer completely, and then just reapply it. Of course this isn't an option for most people as you can't exactly do this by hand. You might be able to find a store in your area that will do it for you. Your best chance is at a music store I think.

Of course if the gashes are so deep that it actually hit the data layer then your screwed, you can't fix it.
