Replacing a Graphics card fan!! Help!

Ok, i recently replaced my CPU fan as that was playing up.... Now i discovered that my Graphics card fan is "Struggling" on full speed... (which it keeps switching to every so often to cool down the graphics card.)

I have a Geforce 6800GT - 8 months old

My question is:
How hard is it to get hold of new Graphics card fans.. or can i just buy say a 40mm and replace it?

Also, how hard is it to actually replace the fan... and could i seriously **** up the card doing so?

i have alot of experience in building PC's but have never had to do this... as its a reasonably new card and i cant afford an upgrade atm i really think i need to nip this problem in the bud.

It shouldn't be too hard if you buy a cooling system designed for your card.
For example the Arctic NV Silencer 5.
It should just involve removing the current cooling system, and placing the new one on, with some thermal 'gloop'
Arctic Silencers have pretty good reviews, are fairly cheap and easy to install, but they do take up an extra PCI slot (not a problem to most people nowadays)
So all in all, if you can put a CPU and HSF on a motherboard, you won't have any trouble changing the cooling solution on your graphics card.

 

Would this require removing the current heatsink on the Graphics card... as the heatsink is pretty big and covers both sides of the card.
