    Hi, Geeks. :)
Due to concerns about the security of Lastpass (given the recent high profile hacks) I think it's time to move away from it and to another password manager. I do this with regret, but not all that MUCH regret. I have exported all sites and passwords, so starting with a new one won't be difficut.
I am willing to pay subscription for a good one.

I need suggestions as to secure password managers out there.
I use multiple browsers, Brave, Pale Moon, Firefox, and so on. (No Google, no Microsoft anything.) It would be a benefit if the password manager had extensions that could be used in most of my browser collection.

Suggestions would be welcomed. Donations of caffeine would be VERY much appreciated as well. :

I've been following all this closely and have come to the conclusion Lastpass security is as good as anyone else's and was attacked because it is so widely used. I'm sticking with it.

I prefer NOT to have passwords stored in the cloud. Apparently Bruce Schneier feels the same. I read his monthly security newsletter.

So, I have Password Safe on my computers. I don't share files between computers nor sync devices so it isn't a problem for me. It would be for anyone who wishes all devices to sync.

That actually looks good to me. I'd prefer not storing my passwords off my machine. The one issue would be a hardware crash causing loss of data; I always keep secure backups so that's not a deal breaker.

Bitwarden is a good online password keeper, they also use 2FA like Yubico. Offline Keepass is always highly rated, or Roboform last suggestion.
If you don't trust the cloud, you can self host your own BitWarden instance.

Bitwarden is good but it doesn't auto fill the passwords like LastPass. you have to right click on the password field each time, then choose the password form the Bitwarden Context menu. Had to go back to using LastPass as this really slowed my workflow down.

Thank you for a valuable link.
This is why I have replaced LastPass. I no longer trust it.
I've exported all my passwords and am slowly changing them while using Bitwarden.
As Spartan mentioned, it's slower, but for me that's a minor headache. (I'm retired, so I go at my own snails pace.)

The industry I work in safety is their main concern, we have to write up the job before we do it, that way no one rushes in and gets hurt, but you can trade safety (security) for speed, just hope it doesn't catch up to you.

Just tried LastPass again and it was uninstalled and I closed my account within 24 hours.

    1) Even if you disable the alert for reused passwords in the account settings > General > Advanced. It keeps nagging you every time you save a password that you have used this password before.
    2) I use Zendesk for our company ticketing system, everytime I go to the Zendesk site, LastPass pops up asking me to save some random username/password which I don't know where it got it from.

I contacted their support but they are muppets, just kept telling me to do the same thing which I have done which is to add that domain to the exclusions but no luck. Bitwarden has 0 issues so back to that.

Remove / disable the browser plugins / extensions?
