Hello again, I am getting a new motherboard, and I am wondering, will i have to reinstall my Operating System? I currently have Window XP Home Edition, i do NOT have the disc, but i have the Product Key. The reason I'm getting a new MoBo is because my processor died a few weeks ago, and they no longer make new processors with the socket type my motherborad has.

I wouldnt think you would have to since the OS is on the hard drive. I would be worried about incompatible drivers.

What CPU Socket is your motherboard?

I think you will need to reinstall. XP flips out if you change the motherboard without reinstalling. You will likely get a bluescreen over and over.

Is that because of the drivers?

    Yes

Windows has a hard time when you change the Chipset. You could try and strip all the drivers you have now and try and boot it up and it may work but it's best to reinstall.

How would you locate a specific driver to delete it?
