    Has anyone heard of a computer that calls your phone (caller id registers out of state area codes) asking for someone in the house? I have been getting many calls and looking for a way to stop it

    is not effective because the computer is using differnet area codes and numbers each time

    move to oklahoma...we have a no-call list. haven't gotten a telemarketing call in forever. :D

    Just to add a postscript from the UK.

    If you give BT a ring they will block any tele- marketing calls for you.
