Rescue Disk

How do I create a rescue disk on a cd? Every thing I've found so far requires a floppy and I don't have a floppy drive. I had System Suite on cd and was able to use it as a rescue disk, but I lost it. Any suggestions?

 

You can put anything that works off floppies onto a CD. The main reason people don't is it wastes a CD since it uses up like 1% of it's space. Plus before it was nicer for compatibilty but now there are getting to be a few computers without floppy drives (because companies just couldn't spare the 5$ it cost to install them).

At any rate though, anything you can do with a floppy you can do with a CD. Some older systems can't use a CD as a boot device though.

 

Yeah but if my memory serves me correctly you have to dig into your BIOS and trigger it it to boot from the CD first rather than the floppy. As to the more modern boxes without floppy access I guess they already have booting from CD Drive on the BIOS.

What burning software do you have?
Do you have a pc with a floppy & CD-R?

 

Yes I want to create a bootable disc, and my pc only has a CD/DVD, no floppy.

I use the burning software that comes with the Windows Media Player.
