Resident Evil Village

Basically, it's yet another strange action horror game that didn't really feel like a RE game. Starring a camera with legs, battling...

* Vampires.
* Lycanthropes.
* Ventriloquists.
* Robots.
* Wildlife.
* Puppets.
* Hallucinations.
* Quasimodo.

Like, oh my God. Play it. You'll laugh so hard!

But I did think it was quite good. Although apparently, Capcom copied a film that was released in 2013, called Frankenstein's Army.

 

Many fans have been raving over the Vampire lady but were ‘put off’ by her final form.
At times I thought I was watching a 1940s Universal horror movie.

 

I thought it was funny how Capcom promoted RE7 as a return to survival horror, when the DLC had scenarios involving shooting and even fist fighting. However, it could be said that RE8 aka Village, is mostly in the category of Action Horror. This is something they were criticized for with games like RE4, to which RE8 is a blatant homage to.

Another story says this character’s designer was credited in the game & Capcom isn’t being sued.

 

They should still ask for permission first, though.

 

Yeah, I saw some videos of it. I'm dying. LOL

 

The new Netflix series will arrive in July.

This looks more indicative of the franchise, to be honest.

 

Just completed RE8 Village of Shadows mode:

 

Did you know that the original resident evil came from Pennsylvania...Can you guess what the towns name was.

 

Raccoon City.

 

I know Silent Hill was based on Centralia, Pennsylvania.
I don’t know whether Raccoon City is based on a City there too.

 

Yup and silent hill was made after Centralia pa.

 

Now we can look ahead to the future.

Currently Invested in World of Warcraft: BC until Halo infinite or Half-Life 3 drops.

 

I tried RE 5, 6 & 7 but couldn’t get into them. I have RE7 but never completed it. I may try again.

 

I have a huge survival horror collection.

There's some games of this kind, where you cannot use guns at all. There's a section in Village where you go to a house, and have your things taken away. That was a genuinely creepy part of the game. The rest was too action heavy. Think of RE4, only in first person. It's a run and gun, shoot and loot experience.

 

Have you tried Zombie for PS4 (or ZombieU for the WiiU)?
That’s another great survival horror game. When you die you start as another player & have to recover the gear from the dead player who’s now a zombie.

 

I think I bought it, but I never played that game. I have a Wii, but I let my sister borrow it.

Perhaps Capcom isn't through with Village just yet. E3 is coming up and 'something' as of yet unconfirmed, is in the pipeline. Whether that's story DLC or just Mercenaries related stuff, nobody knows what it yet.

Personally, I have no motivation to replay the game. It was okay about a month ago. I can't say it was unenjoyable, but in terms of longevity, I think it's a dud.

The game has too much RE4 style action, and even for this series, the story was variably strange to just outright confusing. Like, why didn't Chris bother to tell Ethan sooner that the woman he shot, wasn't really his wife? It was actually the main villain Mother Miranda posing as her. But his explanation for not telling Ethan, was, "I knew you'd want to get involved!"

Capcom, if you're reading this post. Please fire that writer!

Well, I reckon the new spin off will be revealed at an upcoming Nintendo event, instead of E3.

 

I hope there’s DLC & that it’s decent & not just more Mercenaries.
