    Hi again

Not a problem this time - just some advice required please. I have had the hard drive replaced (80GB to 320GB) and 512MB RAM to 1.5GB - mainly due to accommodate photos and music files and to just speed up the computer to cope with the various software etc on it. Have had this done by 'proper' computer people (i.e. not me!) and when re-installing Spybot S&D they had problems with profiles being lost (again!) so we have uninstalled it altogether because it is just not worth the hassle anymore.

Details of what I do have are:

    OS Microsoft XP Home
    Comodo Internet Security firewall
    Avast antivirus
    SpywareBlaster

Also have CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller and Startup.exe for 'housekeeping'.

The engineer ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and still found infected files on the pc, even with the above protection + Spybot S&D. I realise it is unrealistic to expect 100% protection, but that result to me suggests that perhaps I could have some more.

Do you have any suggestions for further resident protection which is compatible with what I already have, or maybe regular online scans I can do as well, or as an alternative to, further resident protection?

    Thanks for your time

Have 75% of yours defence:Avast,Comodo AND Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.My daily routine is always when I don't use IE (right click recycle bin and click run CCleaner). If you think that MAYBE you have a virus go with boot scan (with all updates).

Right click avast tray icon>start avast antivirus>let the memory scan finish>then you will see cd player for cars (hihihihi:-D)>press the eject button (the one in upper left corner)>press "schedule boot-time scan>follow the instruction>avast will automaticaly reboot your windows..........and thats it. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
