resolution changed

my grandson was loading a video on youtube and he said that while it was "buffering" the pictures and words got smaller. i am assuming he meant the resolution had changed. He was using firefox when this issue occurred. i opened the youtube home page (http://www.youtube.com/)and sure enough the resolution had changed, but only on youtube, only on firefox and only on this computer. Internet explorer and chrome, are unaffected. The settings are set on this machine at 800x600 px. it appears that the settings have increased on the youtube web but i don't know as to what value. i have searched on the web page for anything that would reset the settings back but can find none. i would appreciate any input. thanks in advance.

Couple of things you might try:

1. Clean out your Temporary Internet Files caches - you might run CCleaner to make sure everything's erased.

2. Run the Safe Mode Firefox (Start > All Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)), which is a stripped down FF version. If the problems do not present while in FF Safe Mode, then some extension or plugin is causing the issue with the default Firefox.

 

FF can remember settings for each webpage. Try going to youtube and hitting ctrl and 0 (zero) together to reset to full size.

On any webpage ctrl and + increases font size while ctrl and - decreases. Ctrl and 0 resets to normal.

I'm glad it was an easy fix.

I'm slightly sad that I am so familiar with how to increase font size, as I need to use it more and more of late. I think I finally understand what bi-focals are all about.
