Hello, I have installed Windows Server 2008 and I have problem with resolution. ( graphic card: Asus 8600GT)

I cannot set default monitor resolution 1680x1050, maximum allowed resolution is 1600x1200. I have tried Nvidia drivers, and also Omega drivers but without success. Any ides?rolleyes

    Greetings, LizzardKing...

There are several programs listed in the Video section that allow you to tweak your graphics: http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?id=22&sort=7 (I've sorted them as 'freebies' first)...I've used MultiRes many times to display odd resolutions/refresh rates, especially on older machines...

Be advised, however: if the 8600GT's max res is 1600x1200, that may be all can you get without tweaking clock rates and/or GPU language, and that could always lead you to trouble...

I can see why you might want 1680 x 1050, if that fits your screen

    This is 16 : 10 aspect ratio.

However you card cannot reach this but may be able to operate at a lower 16:10 figure such as

    1280 x 800

Surely this is enough for a server?

I usually just bung the oldest most worn out screen onto a server, if I bother with a screen at all, as you only look at them occasionally.
