Restarting PC

Does anyone know why you sometimes have to restart a PC for programs to run correctly? It seems like once or twice a week everyone in our office needs to reboot in order to view the network or open up Microsoft Word for example.

I understand the rebooting refreshes everything but is there a way I can change any settings with the network or the OS to stop this from happening so often?

    Thanks.
