"Restore" files after virus attack

Hey! I have a problem. I had a virus attack not long ago. I cleaned my computer but I cant open some sort of format videos. Those videos are very important to me but when i click to open it, the message pops up saying that there is an error. The videos are in the computer but they won't open. I tried different programs to watch it but still the same message pops up. PLEASE ANYONE!!!!!!! I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which operating system are you on?
What error are you receiving exactly when you are attempting to open a video?
Is it all videos are just certain ones?
Do you know which file extension the videos have? (How to view hidden, system files & folders)

Examples: .avi, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp4, .wmv

 

I have Windows XP and ok. I was able to extract them from the camera even though they were deleted but now the program split the videos into an mp3 and .ico . how can i put them together and actually view the video????????

What did you extract? What was deleted? How are you extracting something that does not exist? I'm afraid I do not understand what you mean here.

Which program are you referring to?

As far as I know, you can't merge an icon file into a mp3 file and make it a video.

You're welcome. Sorry to answer your questions with more questions but I am having some difficulty understanding what is going on and what you are trying to accomplish.
