Restore Point And Ms Office

I run Windows 1909 and use MS Office Home an Student 2019.
After creating a restore point, I check back a couple of days later to see if any programs will be affected by running system restore and inevitably Office is there.
So if I want to run a restore I will lose Office and have to reinstall it.

This seems as though it is not set up right. Office is defeating the purpose of restore. If all apps did this the program would be of no use.
Is there something I can do so Office is not always in the way of a restore I may wish to run to correct an issue without losing Office? Or is this running as it should?

 

Reverting to a restore point would just remove any Office updates that have been run since the restore point was created. It would not remove Office

 

It did not dawn on me that only updates and not Office was included in the restore point. I am relieved to hear this but sorry to have lost past restore points.

I wouldn't rely on restore points myself - disk imaging is the only truly reliable way of being sure that if the system goes seriously belly-up, for whatever reason, you can take it back to the time it was running without problems. I seriously recommend monthly imaging with Macrium Reflect.

 

Exactly - Macrium is what I have used for years and it never failed me.I have used SR fr minor tasks and it has been fairly reliable. Thank you -I do agree with you.
