As a point of ongoing cleanliness when can 'old' restore points be safely deleted?

What to look out for? Where all to look for them? In WinXP.

    Many thanks.>>Phil

Unless you have good reason to change the system Windows will housekeep for you automatically.

The standard is oldest out first after 90 days or the restore cache is full.

When you feel your system is stable and secure, and everything is going fine, just turn System Restore of (on all drives), and then turn it on, this will delete all restore points, and then create a new one.
I recommend turning it on other drives (just keep it for the system drive)

Where to find them? Just show System hidden files and folders, and look inside the folder "System Volume Information", you can delete them manually from there if you want.

I usualy go to the settings and half the size of the space used for restore points, therefore saving more space on my HDD for other things. Im not advising you to do this however. Im just commenting on what I do.
