Restore/Recover Registry..

Okay..I have this misguided idea that I am computer literate. Today I learned I was not. ( I'll just stick with being a musician)

On our Dell, I went to restore the registry.. BUT in our silliness.. we didn't back it up for about 2 years. So we have settings from 2 years ago.. and the computer is just as confused or worse since I did that. ( I am never gonna do THAT again) Why was I doing this because the stupid thang had picked up a virus.. ( another stupid idea was to THINK it would help with this error message I kept getting trying to login to Garageband.com).. DUMB DUMB DUMB...

Anyway.. is there any possible way to restore the registry as it was before I dumped the old 2 yr old registery? Any type utilities that can recover it?

system: Dell, WindowsME, darned if I know the memory or speed.. ( my bad I know )

Any chocolate.. ahem.. er uh.. help would be appreciated

Okay... husband is working on the solution to the problem, will keep you all updated as to how we were able to recover/restore the registry.

Restoring registry is not the way to clean a virus.Undo the reg restore if you can.
Visit the spyware forum they will remove any malware from your computer.
