restore view in "my computer" - vista

Greetings, I somehow lost the original view of my computer in vista and before posting this, I noticed that there was a thread where the poster had a problem similar to mine, but the program and possible solutions didn't apply

the problems stated are similar to mine in that all I'd like to do is restore the view in "my computer" to the default setting

 

Could it be that you just need to go to the toolbar and click view to select the way you want it viewed?

 

... to my dismay I thought I already tried the tiles selection, thank you, I would have never found that
