Is this good and safe software, Restorer2000 ?
My 512 jump drive was accidentally deleted by a friend (X friend just kidding). I have downloaded the eval copy and it only does upto 64K files, and I only need it for one time. I don't want to pay if 1: it is not the best undelete software to use. 2: If there is a eval copy or key to use for a day or two that will undelete all file. 3: If there is something cheaper that does the same thing.
If anyone has used this software could you please recommend it or yell "No Not Buy It It's Junk"
    Thanks,
    BMD

    Halo
Yes, it is free but to recover large files (over 64K) you need to buy to at a cost of about $50.00. This a lot for one time use. I'm mid 40 years old and I have never needed this type of software,,,, yet.

I'm not talking about Restorer2000, try the link I provided to PC Inspector File Recovery which is free and I recovered a 10mb file the other day off a USB KEY Drive, if it works you'll not have to spend a $

OK, it found it as a drive even thou all the files including the system files are deleted. I'm finding and scaning now, then I go to the logical drives and I should see all the files there? Will it recover then to the jump drive or some place else? Sorry about the questions I have never need to un-do something like this.

    Halo
THANKS YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU,
Sweet,,,,, I think It worked. I will do this at home and save all the stuff (junk) to my system and them reformat the jumpdrive. What if there was a hidden part of the jumpdrive? And again can you just undelete them where there are?

    Bruce.

Sorry Bruce, got sidetracked, missed your post, you will have noticed that you have to recover the files to a 2nd location.

I'll be honest I havnt come across hidden parts or partitions on a JumpDrive, but whatever is listed in any of the parts of the drive be they Deleted, Root etc if they come up in the found list and are green in colour you are most likely able to recover them.

glad it worked for you... saved you a few $$$ ;)

This is wied and bad. My system at home will not even see the Jump Drive in the USB port. I first plug it in it see it as something attached but then goes away, and with the software I search or scan and it only see C:. My home system is XP (I hate XP) my work systems are 2000.

How can I get my XP system to see a deleted USB Jump Drive?

I got the software to work but a lot of the files are listed as OK but also only show up as hex and other funny junk. I think this was on the jump drive in the hidden password protected location and that is a lot of what I wanted back off the drive. I will give it one more try and then I will reformat and is gone is gone.

Thanks to Halo for your help,
    Bruce.
