Ok, did something really dumb and now can't remember how to remedy it. Was fooling around with my DOS window settings on my Win XP Pro machine and set it to "full screen" (right click on title bar of DOS window and fooled with the properties). I wish to restore the DOS window back to the defaults but cannot figure out how to get back into the settings dialogue. Any help will be appreciated.

if you're referring to the cmd window, you revert it the same way, right click the title bar\properties then the "display options" at the top right & select "window"

the only problem is that there is no title bar, now what???

with that window open, do an ALT-TAB, that should minimize it, then right click it on the tool bar & properties :)

of course, thanks for the lesson on the obvious. Sometimes you can't see the forest because of the trees friend. Thanks again.
