Does NE1 know a trick how to PERMANENTLY restrict Google search results
from turning up URLs in ... say, the UK? I am fully conversant with one-at-a-time domain exceptions, but I want a permanent solution. I do a lot of shopping online and would prefer to keep .UK out of the picture.

You can set it by clicking on the preferences link, when you save it it will write a cookie to your computer. If you use a program that removes cookies it will reset this though.

You can just tick the pages from the uk checkbox when you search if you use google.co.uk instead of google.com

Been there, done that. I see on the Preference pages only options to
restrict LANGUAGES and other stuff .. but no option to restrict domains, such as .UK

Only on the Advanced Search page am I presented with such an option, but there does not appear any way to SAVE that with the Preferences.

Perhaps your Google presents different choices?

Hmm I see what you mean now, perhaps it isn't possible!

I guess you could just put -site:co.uk infront of all your search but this isn't very practical either
