    Hey guys,

My computer was recently infected with the Resycler virus. During the infection, I couldn't access my Windows Task Manager, Registry and my Norton antivirus software was prevented from connecting to the Norton server (I think it has something to do with the DNS connection).

I managed to clear the infection using 'Combo Fix' and I had to turn off Windows Restore in the process. My computer works fine now. However, in my C: drive, there is a folder called "System Informtation". I've tried to delete it to no avail. When I log into my computer in 'Safe Mode', I don't see the file. And, the Resycler folder pops up every now and then in the C drive.

I was just wondering, 1)why does the Resycler folder keep appearing, 2)is my computer still infected, 3)does the System Information folder have something to do with System Restore or is it the virus and how do I clear these folders?

Thanks alot guys. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I believe the Recycler folder is where items moved to the Recycle Bin are stored until you empty the Recycle Bin. The System Information folder contains restore points. I am guessing that it is created/recreated even if you have System Restore turned off.

At any rate both are normal Windows files that are usually hidden and protected from deletion.
