RH Server will not boot

    Restarted a Red Hat Linux 4.1.18 server tonight and suddenly getting the following message;

    Uncompressing Linux... Ok, boothing the kernel
    sudit(1285178218.651:0) initialized
    Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
    File descriptor 3 left open
    Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
    No volume groups found
    File descriptor 3 left open
    No volume groups found
    File descriptor 3 left open
    No volume groups found
    mount: error 6 while mounting ext3
    mount: error 2 mounting none
    switchroot: mount failed: 22
    umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
    Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempting to kill init!

    Not sure why it would happen and could really use some help here.

    Your file system could be corrupted.

    I was also reading it can be cause by your drive controller.

    You make any changes to your bios recently?

    Your drive could also be gone.

    You have a rescue cd right?
