ribbon cables

hi
i was wondering if ribbon cables can be alterd
if each strand can be peeled apart and taped together to form a round cable?

ive tryed with a spare and they seem to come apart ok but will it still work after without overheating or eneything?

also can they be made smaller by moveing the blocks at the end again i have tryed but havent risled pluging it in has it been tryed?

i no you can buy ones that have allreadey been done but i dont like changeing things that still work but as they are at the moment make the case look a mess.

yes u can seperate each strand and tape it up together. however be careful not to bent or acedently kink any one the cables. if its a airflow problem that ur having, it may be a more effective idea to move the cable sideways so that the air passes by it nice and easily.

A far easier solution may be to buy EDIE cables that are already bundled into tubes.

ive taken apart ribon cables and made my own and mine worked BUT the catch is if u dont put it back to gether EXACTLY right U WILL scramble ur hard drives programing.

 

I just roll the cables over ( ya need to wrap them pritty tight ) and then wrap them in the colord electrecal tape ...if ya do it right it looks suprisingly good....
