I can not use right click on web pages only. It works fine on my desktop and tool bars but within web pages it has stopped. I included a picture with my pointer in it and the little yellow box under the pointer is something new also. Copying and pasting without the mouse was mind numbing, lol. I have re-booted and this didn't help. I have made no major changes prior to this. Running win98 se with Firefox 2.0. Any ideas?

Have you tried updating the driver?

Start>Control Panel>Mouse>Hardware, click Properties button >Driver tab and click Update driver button.

Tried that. I also ran Ad-aware and Hijack This just to see if anything has changed. Device manager shows nothing. I can use the right click anywhere but on web pages. I went directly to the driver update for the mouse by right clicking my computer on my desktop. Its just on web pages it has stopped, and added the little yellow box. I am thinking of rolling back my driver to this morning.

If you use internet explorer does it do the same thing?

Sorry it took me a bit to come back to this. Lev, Java seems fine but Colemanguy may be on to something. It works in IE. The only ad-ons I have added lately is image zoom which relies on mouse functions and I have disabled that to no avail.

Hmmm, what is that now? I'm sure I've had that yellow box tagging along but memory escapes me as to what it is. I'm sure it's a feature of Firefox - I'll poke around and see if I can remember what it is...

Meantime, think about any settings you might have changed which aren't connected to add-ons.

I haven't been able to figure it out, but it's possible if you maximise the Firefox window so the whole lot shows on the screen and paste a screen shot, if there's anything in the window related to your problem, it might jog my memory.

That is a full screen shot I have posted, minus the address bar which is out due to fuller screen add-on.

Goran this is useful info. but right click does not function on any web page in when I am using FF. It works on everything else, IE included.

In particular, I was interested in seeing the status bar area and possibly the address bar and tab area - just wondering if there's anything showing that would be a clue - I know I've seen this but I can't find what it was and what I did.

This little yellow box...have you tried doing things with/to it, to find out it's purpose? To me, it sounds like you have some FF add-on installed that is over-riding your mouse button settings. Go to Tools>Add-ons and list every add-on you have for us to see.

Lev thanks!!! You put me back on the trail I was first on. It was Menu Editor I had added a few days ago from mozdev.org. I had at first ignored it since things were fine since it was added. It's funny how a simple solution can grow into a headache lol. Thanks to all, this place is the best!!!!!! Have a great weekend.

But since I never had that unless my son installed it and then removed it, I still don't remember what mine was caused by! Good on ya Lev!
