    I have XP Home and when my mouse hovers over the Programs menu my right click produces nothing. It works in other places but not in Programs. Any ideas?

    Try restarting your computer.

    Thanks for you response. I restart my laptop 3 - 10 times daily. Any other suggestions?

    I have the problem when I click Start, Programs and while the cursor is over the Programs list I right click it and nothing happens. What is confusing is that the right click works in other situations.

    Greetings, StratCat!

    @howie

    It should right click anywhere and bring up a menu. Even in a blank space.

    Nothing happens on my pc if I click in a blank space in the program menu only if i have one of the folders highlighted

    sounds like your context menu is gone.. registry issue. Unfortunately, rebuilding a context menu is something I do not know how to do.

    What if I re-installed WinXP? What problems would that cause?

    Have you got any tweaking utilities installed? I think I have disabled mine with x-teg if you have try restoring defaults from within the tweaker ifthats an option to you

    Slap me if I missed this.

    Does it work in Safe Mode?

    No, I hadn't tried Safe Mode but then I did and there was no difference, Then I did a System Restore and that corrected it so I must inadvertently deleted a registry file.

    Thanks for all the help!
