right click..run/program

you know when you right click the desk top, your options, is there a program or a way to add something like to run a program sorta like, right click...

Not quite what you're looking for, but this reminded me of a program Clovis Lofton wrote, "Start Or Switch", which when you right-click, you can switch to another running program or have the start menu available, and you can get to your programs. It's like a portable Start menu button where ever your mouse is. This was geared towards Win95 and NT so I don't know how it will do with Win98, Win2k, XP, since you don't state your computer's OS. He also wrote a program TSCUTS, also shown at that link, that allows you to place shortcuts into the system tray area of your taskbar to launch your favorite programs. I've used them in the past when I was using Win95 - now using Win2k.

 

Ken3, yeah you're right, pretty close but not what i'm looking for, here is a screenshot of kinda what i'm looking to do, it's for linux though for anyone who might not know what i'm talking about...

no wait, this is for the web/site i was looking for something like this for my desk top...

 

Not sure if this is what you want, but TweakUI from MS will allow you to add app document types to the desktop right-click menu under the "New" submenu.

It installs into Control Panel, once installed go to the "New" tab and drag documents into the window to create a new type.
